I originally found Dr. Corbin through the web when I was searching for a dentist to help with a temporary bridge that had cracked. Dr Corbin seemed very nice, and empathetic, and assured me it could be fixed for 250-300 dollars. When I went to the office with this expectation, i met a couple very personable hygienists and then a lady doctor. All were very pleasant. After I got in the chair, and the dentist started assessing things, was when things fell apart. The receptionist manager came in and told me the procedure would be roughly 8000, by the following Friday, and asked how I was going to pay. Needless to say I was surprised and shocked, embarrassed as well because I had advised Dr. Corbin when we spoke what I could afford to pay. I assumed that it was merely an administrative mistake, and texted Dr. Corbin ( still on vacation where I had originally chatted with him on the phone in Arizona), who said he would take a look when he got back to town. When he did, I again contacted Dr. Corbin, who agreed to a price of 561 (never mentioning his prior stated price of 250-300), and told me to make an appointment. I did, advising the receptionist I did not have the 561 that day, but since it would be a two appointment thing, asked if I could I pay half then and half the next week on installation. At this point the receptionist merely laughed, and said she needed payment on the day services were provided, to which I said since services are to be provided on two dates it made sense to make two payments. She said she asked Dr Corbin, and he said he needed the money up front. In any event, several days passed (now more than 3 weeks since first contact with Dr Corbin telling me it could be fixed the next day for $250-300), and I called to book the appointment, the minimum delay now projected til the 25th of February, another 10 days from the date of scheduling the appt. Despite a desire to get this fixed more quickly, I said OK to the appointment. Today, after a month has elapsed, I get a call from a receptionist telling me Doctor Corbin canceled the appointment for the 25th. I feel sorry for the nice people who work for him, and for the patients Dr. Corbin treats this way. An honorable and ethical man would have done what he said he would do, instead of using these bait and switch tactics and then cowering behind an abrasive office manager. If you had no intention of living to your word, shame on you. I intend to make sure this story and the other similar stories Ive found get distributed to anyone considering using your services, and I intend to file formal complaints with appropriate regulatory authorities for fraudulent business practices. To the dental assistants and the other doctor who work in the Danvers office, I want to thank you for being gracious and helpful.
