Our dentist retired so we need a new family dentist. Based on a recommendation we had an initial visit with Dr. Cote. He seemed competent, low keyed and willing to treat patients with considerable dental anxiety. So despite the drawbacks of an unappealing, windowless office and a parking set up requiring returning to you car with a parking permit we decided to become patients.
Later I called for a cleaning appointment, speaking to the office manager. I was told that there were no appointments until January 2014 (five months away). When my wife tried to explain that we had already had a preliminary visit with the doctor and that I was due for a cleaning she was less than helpful only offering a possible cancellation. When asked to tell Dr. Cote that we would appreciate it if he called us to discuss the matter she responded that she would tell him but that "... he wouldn't call back." When asked to tell him that she said "... he wouldn't call back" she replied "Don't talk down to me." This was the tone of an extended conversation.
Later that day there was a message on our telephone from the office manager -- not the dentist -- saying that we could make an appointment for a dental visit and for a cleaning. Did she tell Dr. Cote's everything? In any case, this was an unacceptable, unprofessional handling of two new patients. Our previous dentist personally returned calls the same days as does our family physician. Seemingly, this isn't a health care practice that is patient oriented.

Initially, I thought Dr. Cote would be fine, but in the 2 years I went to him he became erratic. I saw him speak rudely to his staff and to a patient he had a disagreement with. In the end, he missed a crack in my tooth that would have resulted in a root canal had I not had to go to another dentist because he was out of town. Since his work turned out to not be so thorough and his manner became more abrupt and unpredictable, I decided to stop going to him and no longer recommend him to friends.
About Hygienist: They were fine, but I feel bad for them that they have to work for such a rude boss.

I LOVE Dr. Cote and his staff! I think that other reviewer, who gave the negative review, is insane. I took my 90-year-old mom to see Dr. Cote today for the first time, and he was extremely attentive, kind, professional, and, most significantly, knowledgeable. His staff was so kind and helpful, as well. He took us on an emergency basis, and still he devoted a lot of time to my mom and her dental issue...and he explained everything thoroughly to me. I'm making appointments for my husband and me as a result. I am VERY picky about doctors, especially for my mom, so when I say he's great, he's GREAT. If you want a true professional who is extremely knowledgeable about dentistry, who explains options to you thoroughly, and who is kind and warm, don't hesitate to make an appt. with Dr. Cote. He's booked two-three months in advance, so keep that in mind. Highly recommend. :)
About Hygienist: Ebony, the technician, was awesome. Same professional attitude as Dr. Cote, and same knowledge and care. She was so good with my mom, and she took her time with everything. Very, very nice. :)

Office staff is inept and rude. The administrative staff is technologically incapable of providing best in class customer service. Dr. Cote is a heavy handed dentist and lacks precision. Limited accessible parking is also problematic.
About Hygienist: Hygienists are very nice, thorough and efficient

Be very careful with your insurance information in this office. Insurance cards seem to get lost and the office will charge you for services insurance could have paid for because the office doesn't file in a timely manner.
Dr. Cote is a very nice man and a good dentist, but his front office staff leaves much to be desired.

The office is nice and Dr. Cote, along with the other dentist ( a lady) put me at ease with the way they did things (read: less pain). Some of the insurance issues were frustrating. Outside of that, my visits were the best experiences that I had in dentistry.

Dr. Cote and his staff are professional, friendly and fast. They are prompt with appointment times so your time is not wasted, and they make you feel comfortable. I have had extensive dental work done by various dentists in the Arlington area and Dr. Cote is at the top. Dr. Cote and his hygienist Heather and assistant Ariana have excellent chair-side manners. I have gladly recommended friends to see Dr. Cote for their dental work.

Dr. Cote and Heather (his asst.) are the two best in the world. I have never in my 33 years had such great care, great people, and just felt at home, and best of all, NO PAIN!! They are the best!
