After being a loyal patient of Dr. Leon C. Lester Jr for over 10 years, he deceitfully misled me about orthodontic services that he was paid to provide but never provided yet has failed to refund me the complete payment I made to him in November 2019.
I was not aware that he was in the process of selling his practice. He notified of the sell in January 2020. He was suppose to continue at the new practice and provide my service. I was shocked when I contacted the dental practice July 1, 2020 to get a status of my orthodontia trays to find out that he left the practice in June. No notification given to me prior to him leaving.
Only after I filed a complaint with the North Carolina Attorney General Office did he provide me with a partial payment. This was after 7 months of my repeated requests for him to reimburse me and his false assurances that he would do so. He has even failed to uphold the agreement for repayment of my down payment that he submitted to the NC Attorney General Office. He has proven to be dishonest.

To make a long story short. Dr Lester has destroyed my LIFE. I lost my girlfriend,MY SON, my JOB and my sanity. Dr Lester performed several dental procedures for me in the last few years. Most were out of pocket due to my economic situation. Dr Lester charged me $1000 for root canals that I had to pay in 3 pays each time I came to his office. $400 for step 1, $400 for step 2 and the. $200 for the core. of the this went on for at least 1 year then he chose to do a root canal on a tooth that had no decay but was dead at the root. As a PROFESIONAL I trusted him. As a BLACK PROFESSIONSAL MAN I trusted him even more but now I'm left with today. Today I have an uncompleted root canal with a metal file broken off in it with no one and no funds to fix it. Its hard. I can't find a lawyer that will help and I'm lost out here. Dr Lester broke a file in the tooth and also allowed his dental assistant to act as a dentist and place a 24ml file in my #9 tooth which was only at the depth of 23 ml abd then tried to cover it up by rushing me out of HIS office with no clue in what was happening but I went to another dentist that confirmed it. He even stated that he would pay for my tooth. That's not enough.
About Front Desk: They were friendly but they work for him.
About Hygienist: Hygienist was wonderful but if they a reflection of who he is the they are no Good as well

Dr. Lester is simply amazing. He is very pleasant, helpful and patient. His staff is very kind and helpful and appear to enjoy what they do and working with people. I have no complaints and am very pleased with the outcome of the procedure, the service and cost. Highly recommend Dr. LESTER.

About Hygienist: Absolutely amazing. Compliments Dr. Lester. Skillful, knowledgeable, patient and helpful.

Excellent work! Dr Lester is always courteous, and always give you any information you ask for!! I would recommend him to anyone.
About Hygienist: Excellent, very nice and personable. My teeth came out clean as ever. Very gentle, she did amazing!

Visiting Dr. Lester is always a pleasant experience. His staff is patient and they have top notch technology. Many of us from work go to his office and they are very satisfied as well. I highly recommend!

I did not like going to Dr. Lester. I am a very nervous patient and very little was done to make me feel at ease with the procedures. Also, a number of times I could still feel the drill on my teeth and when I told the dentist this, he did not immediately stop what he was doing. This made me very anxious every time I visited the office and was the main reason for my changing dentists. I would not recommend this office for those of you that are nervous patients.

My husband and I visited Dr. Lester based on the review of this website. The facilities were great. The reception staff is NOT friendly. The first time I went in for a cleaning, I didn't "sign in", and had to wait for 20min, until someone "noticed" me. They do not have sign in sheet at the front desk, but you have to show somehow that you are there. It was so ridiculous, since the staff saw me in there, but because I didn't actually say, "hello, I'm here", they didn't sign me in. Anyway, this is not the whole story.
Dr. Lester changed my treatment plan about 3 times on me. The first time I came I had 3 cavities, then I had only one (that was actually fixed), and the rest of them dissappeared. Then my husband had an appointment to fix his cavities. At his initial exam, he was told that he had three cavities. When the doctor had my husband's mouth numbed up, he said that there were no cavities. My husband had to take a half day off from work, and for nothing. The cleaning didn't go so smooth for either of us, the hygienist was very rough, and it seemed like she was tearing my gums apart. My husband had the same experience.
I am not going back to Dr. Lester.

Dr. Lester is a great dentist. I've been amazed and pleased with him and his staff since my first appointment. You'll be pleased as well.
