I ended up leaving without proceeding with the treatment, and I would strongly recommend you save yourself the time and expense of visiting. This dentist displays an interesting mix of incompetence rolled up with a lack of basic manners

I didnt really feel comfortable from the first visit to Dr. Karen Hom. It was an emergency and I thought that she could help me, but instead she made me feel even worse about my teeth and made me feel like she thought she was better than me. Against my instincts I followed through with her treatment plan that consisted of going to several other specialists. I then was told to come back to her for finishing touches. Upon doing everything that she said I walked into my next appt. with her. She, again, made me feel like I hadnt taken good enough care of my teeth and like I was putting her out to do anything extra. Not only was she belittling me, but she was belittling her staff as well , in front of me. At one point I told her asst. that I would never come back to Dr. Hom due to her unprofessionalism and lack of bedside manner. Patients know that they have problems with their teeth, thats why they seek a dentist. We dont need them to make us feel like low lifes because at some point in our lives we could not afford to go to a dentist. I am very disappointed with her, and I wouldnt recommend her to anyone. It takes more than a degree to make a good dentist, attitude is everything. Dr. Hom could use some classes in tact.

Dr. Hom has to be the best Dentist I have ever seen in my life. She is extremely competent, cares, and is very proficient at what she does. Her staff ROCKS! I give my highest recommendations to her and her office. You will be pleased with your experience with her! You'll enjoy her state-of-the-art fung-shei office, to her delightful staff. You'll get the best treatment and actually be cared for by her and her staff!

Best dentist in town!! She really cares about making you feel comfortable and does an excellent job with treating you.
About Hygienist: Best hygeinist in town who makes sure your teeth is cleaned to perfection. All my stains were removed and I am quite pleased.

I made a terrible mistake becoming a patient of Dr.Hom's. I am in the process of dealing with a collection agency that she sent me to after I refused to pay for her office staff's mistakes. I am also having my insurance company investigate her activity... I started seeing Dr.Hom in January 2008. Her Office Manager at the time assured me that they were preferred providers of my insurance. This was either a blatant lie or they were so stupid that they didn't even know for whom they were a provider. After she did the dental work, I was informed that they were in fact not covered by my provider! I was then responsible for the hefty bill. HER OFFICE IS SO MESSED UP - SHE HAD WENT THROUGH AT LEAST 3 OFFICE MANAGERS IN THE 1 YEAR THAT I WAS DEALING WITH HER!!!! There was nothing more I could have done to confirm that she was a provider because when I called the insurance company, she was coming up as a provider --- FROM HER PREVIOUS PRACTICE!!!!! What a mess. She never even tried to work with me. I WAS A LOYAL AND WELL-PAYING CUSTOMER. DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID!!! (Her dental work left something to be desired, too...)
