I have gone to see Dr. Marcucci since I moved to San Francisco, and I have always gotten great care. In addition to replacing some not-so-great fillings from childhood, he has performed the dreaded "root-canal" and I have to say that the worst part of it simply keeping my mouth open for so long. I really did not have any pain.
Many of his office staff have been there a long time and work together as a highly coordinated team. One of the hygienists, Michelle, is really superb.
The atmosphere is open, and they have a great collection of music--not the Muzak from my childhood dentist that can still make me break out into a cold sweat.
I recently sent my husband to see him, and he won't stop raving about the professionalism of the office, and in particular, Dr. Marcucci's demeanor. He has a really calming manner. He explains everything very thoroughly without scaring you to death.
I had a former coworker who moved away from the bay area but would fly from the east coast to see Dr. Marcucci. That says it all!

I have been going to Bruce Marcucci for over 25 years. He is also my wife's and son's dentist.

I really like this guy and his staff. The assistants do most of the work but they are really pleasant and the office is very relaxing. I like the North Beach connection, too, as I never make it over to Caffe Trieste often enough and that's my little reward!

Years ago, the doctor used to be more gruff, meaning that he would say things like, "You're teeth are short because of grinding and it makes you look prematurely old." Now he seems very communicative, friendly and concerned. He regularly tells me when and what procedure he's doing and how it will affect me. And he's even called on the weekend to check up on me after prepping me for a crown. With the cleanings and procedures I've had recently, all has gone well. The only hiccup is that I've needed a root canal when we thought I might escape it. My complaint about the dentist's office is that it seems expensive when it comes to procedures and added fees. I've intentionally solicited pre-approvals from my insurance to avoid hidden costs, but there always seems to be *something* that comes up that costs me more in the end. For example, I needed an Advil after having drilling done and the nurse said she would get me some, but then I had to pay $5 for a packet of them. That's minor, but then on one occasion I had preapproval on a procedure. Once the work was finished I learned that the materials the doctor used were different than initially discussed and they needed to charge me more. I felt like I was at the mercy of a shifty mechanic.

Very overrated and high priced dentist. the two fillings i did have both fell off. If you do decide to go to this dentist, please ensure that you inquire about all of his hidden fees and costs., which they never tell you up front. ask them about thier $100 appointment cancellation fees. LoL...will never go back or recommend this guy!!

I have never had a bad experience with Dr. Marcucci nor any of his hygienists. Everyone is extremely professional and has a great bedside manner. Dr. Marcucci's unique style in decorating his office makes one feel relaxed and comfortable. I have been going to him for over 10 years and have no desire to change dentists.

I've always been so pleased with all the treatments I've had at Dr.Marcucci's office. The crowns he made for me look absolutely perfect. The office and experience is very relaxing and professional.

I think Dr. Marcucci is the best dentist I've ever had. I had heard he did really good work and focused on quality. After my dental visits, I saw how true the rumors were. I was comfortable under his care. Great staff--especially his hygienist Michelle. Would highly recommend.

Extremely knowledgible and professional. Somewhat cool in his relationship with patients. He does his work with expert skill and he is fast. Minimal pain. Very hygenic office. Office staff is excellent. Very expensive and he does not take insurance. He is a perfectionist and his results do show it. Highly recommended for those who can pay the high premium for his services!

Pretty office, decent chair-side manner, yes. But the cost seemed high, and I had some minor follow-up problems that I had to go back and get fixed elsewhere. Would not go back.
