Dr. Shinn has to be one of the most experienced and gentle dentists I have ever come across. I have been a patient of hers for over 10 years since I moved to the Big Apple. Her services are so good and I trust her that much that even though I live in Brooklyn now, I will take time make a appointment months in advance to get a spot on a Saturday afternoon. Not only that I make my husband come with me, and he too is impressed with her work. He just hat 5 fillings and said it didn't even hurt him. (and that is huge complement because he is a big baby) She is worth it. Her assistants are also amazing. She also does wonders with children. If you are from Little Neck do give her a try. I hope you find time you make to take care of yourself an enjoyable one.

I went to Grace Shin, DDS because her colleague diagnosed a cavity that needed filling. Dr. Shin was very professional, and explained that she would have to drill to evaluate whether she could simply fill the tooth or possibly extract it (the low point of the session for me as it increased my anxiety level). She told me she would inform me as soon as she knew the specifics of the treatment plan, and she did so. The subsequent drilling procedure was not pain free ( I always feel drilling) however Dr. Shin was compassionate and responded appropriately when the pain increased. Usually after a filling my teeth are sensitive to cold and heat, but so far (5 hours later) I do not feel any undue sensitivity. In fact I felt so well, I ate a big Korean meal (in Dr. Shin's honor, of course!) three hours later. The young woman at the front desk Sarah and Eric, both of whom assist with the dental procedures are also quite kind and professional.

Dr. Shin is wonderful. In the three years my husband and I have been using her she has never done any work that was not necessary. She has the most gentle touch. She doesn't look to do costly work is there is another way. Her staff is delightful also.
