It is like going to see old friends when I go to Dr Nathan. He is excellent at what he does He is also very funny, joking all the time. His staff members are wonderful and always helpful. He has the best hygienist in town who is very gentle and knowlegeable. His assistant is nice and caring. His secretary is polite and professional. I would highly recommend this office. V.W.

I've been seeing Dr. Nathan for years regarding chronic periodontal problems. He goes the extra mile and is very pro-patient. He recently went against the recommendation of my general dentist saying that a tooth the latter said should be pulled would be savable for a few years by root canal. Whenever a professional is willing to disagree with a colleague I consider it a big plus.

I chose Dr. Nathan from a list of specilaists given to me fifteen years ago by my general dentist. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I have complex tooth and gum problems, and Dr. Nathan has helped me every step of the way. The surgeries and deep cleanings and scalings I desperately needed were accomplished with a minimum of pain. Dr. Nathan and his fabulous assistant Elaine even helped me stop smoking, and I haven't had a cigarette in over 13 years. Dr. Nathan and his staff meet the highest standard both for professional care and patient service. I highly recommend this office to those seeking the services of a periodontist. It's the best.

I went to see Dr. Richard Nathan for oral surgery , and was very pleased.
His administrative assistant, Elaine remembered my name from the first time I called, and made me feel right at home during what could have been a stressful surgery. She took care of all claims, talked with my insurance company after they initially refused to pay, and had already mailed out the necessary appeals before I had a chance to call and ask Dr. Nathan to write a letter of explanation.
In preparing for my surgery, Dr. Nathan listened carefully to my symptoms, helped me plan out the day of surgery, (time, who would pick me up, etc), reviewed what medications were going to be given, and the effects they might have, and described possible after-effects; after the surgery, I was even given a list of foods I could eat, a description of the possible side effects, and his cell phone number just in case! Well, I didn't need to use it because the surgery went so well, I barely had to use the pain medications I'd been prescribed during my initial visit.
I have been to five dentists/periodontists in the San Francisco Bay Area, and I can honestly say that none of them has been as considerate, efficient, and personable as Dr. Nathan and his staff.
