I went to see Dr. Richard Nathan for oral surgery , and was very pleased.
His administrative assistant, Elaine remembered my name from the first time I called, and made me feel right at home during what could have been a stressful surgery. She took care of all claims, talked with my insurance company after they initially refused to pay, and had already mailed out the necessary appeals before I had a chance to call and ask Dr. Nathan to write a letter of explanation.
In preparing for my surgery, Dr. Nathan listened carefully to my symptoms, helped me plan out the day of surgery, (time, who would pick me up, etc), reviewed what medications were going to be given, and the effects they might have, and described possible after-effects; after the surgery, I was even given a list of foods I could eat, a description of the possible side effects, and his cell phone number just in case! Well, I didn't need to use it because the surgery went so well, I barely had to use the pain medications I'd been prescribed during my initial visit.
I have been to five dentists/periodontists in the San Francisco Bay Area, and I can honestly say that none of them has been as considerate, efficient, and personable as Dr. Nathan and his staff.
