Read Reviews for Dr. Sherman Menser
I have been going to Dr. Menser for probably my about twenty years. I love him. He is personable, does a great job on my teeth. He is also clean, careful to where gloves and mask. His speech and mannerisms are gentle. My pre bridge work was long, but he gave me breaks which made the procedure as pain free as possible. He is the best

Dr. Menser was great starting off, but as time went on, his greatness began to fade. After a few visits his concern for my pain was brushed aside, and he seemed to care more about carrying on than addressing my issues, which was not the case when I first started going. After a few visits he reported a few of my teeth to be "redone" in a cosmetic sense. However, he was the one who worked on them. It seemed he waited for the insurance time to pass so he could rake more money in on a tooth he had already done. Lastly, due to timing issues I had scheduled a cleaning, and cavity filling in one day, after the cleaning, I was sent home. The problem is I had only a rental for that one day. He either didn't make time, didn't want to work on my teeth, or there was disorganization between him and his staff.
Overall, he is very slow, wait time is long. Plan at least half a day of your time for teeth cleaning, and the whole day if it is anything more.
His office is in great need of renovations, and his equipment is outdated. Like I said, I enjoyed him for the first year, as he was gentle, kind, and concerned with me as a patient. Now, it seems to be the opposite.

I am unsure whether this dentist is competent or not when it comes to dentistry because his assistant thinks she knows more about what is going on than he does. She will do the xrays make an assessment of what is needed and then expresses to him about what she sees. I was given a prescription by her without even seeing him during that visit. Actually he smiled and waved as I was ushered out and taken to the front to schedule a future appointment. The antibiotic and pain pills took care of the immediate problem but I know that I will not be going back for treatment because I really don't know if it will be his assistant doing my treatment or the doctor. I found this to be avery strange way of handling patients and it even seems illegal to me.

I had a broken molar. He decided it would be best to put a crown on it. He made sure that it didn't hurt while preparing the tooth for the crown. The temporary crown wasn't good, but, hey, it's a temporary. The permanent had to be sent back to the lab--not his fault. All of the staff want to be helpful and if things aren't exactly right, they are very apologetic and try their best to get it fixed right away. Even though this has been a frustrating experience. I don't feel that any of it was Dr. Sherman's fault, and I felt he has done a good job of making the best out of the situation. I will go back to Dr. Menser in the future.
