I've known Steve Ostwald since the early 80's when he was a dental resident. He trained at the Mount Zion dental clinic, which was an excellent training facility for postgrad dentists. Steve is kind, warm, very skilled, and, most of all, concerned about his patients' welfare. He specializes in working with people who have "dental fear" (of which I am not one), and he explains all the procedures, checks with you periodically during the procedure to see how you're doing, and makes sure you're comfortable. His staff is efficient and helpful. There isn't a high turnover so you get to know the receptionist, xray techs, and hygienists over the years. I've had all my childhood fillings replaced and some gold crowns placed, and every procedure has been painless and fast. The office is light and airy and spacious so you don't feel claustrophobic. Aside from the fact that Steve's my friend and he's a great guy, I would recommend him highly for his skill, chairside manner, and helpful, friendly staff.

My negative response on the pricing is only because Dr. Ostwald is not a preferred dentist in my PPO. But I feel so strongly about Dr. Ostwald's excellence that I'm willing to go to him even though he is outside my network.
Dr. Ostwald is very forthcoming by sharing information with his patients and seeking their opinion and desires when creating treatment plans. He is extremely trustworthy and I would recommend him and his staff (especially Penny) to anyone searching for a comfortable, friendly, professional atmosphere.

I have been going to this dental practice for 17 years now--hard to believe! I send all my friends and contacts here. Dr. Ostwald does superb work; I've had many fillings, composite fillings, and even a porcelain insert (not quite a crown) over the years and it's always been downright pleasant to come in. His office staff are all very friendly and competent--I swear that the receptionists are the best in the business. Dr. Ostwald is very focused on minimizing pain and treating fearful patients gently. I am not a particularly fearful patient but even I was struck by his caring and concerned chairside manner--he checked in with me often while working on me and paused to let me "stretch my jaw" every once in a while during a 4-hour session. I would recommend Dr. Ostwald's practice to anyone, anytime.

Dr. Ostwald has been my dentist for a really long time and I have been satisifed with the treatment I have received.

Highly skilled, seems to regularly update his skills and equipment, explains things thoroughly and well, nice person, on the expensive side but will agree to setting monthly credit card/debit automatic payments, staff if efficient and pleasant,

Finding a good dentist (for me) is as important as finding a good auto mecahnic. I want someone who is very very good and honest. Dr. Ostwald was recommeded to me by a friend 15 years ago and I have been going to him ever since. he and his staff are very very good, honest, considerate and always looking out for my best interest either dental healthwise or financially. I would highly recommend him.

very personable, relaxing environment. Very expensive. refers out for root canals to equally expensive guy. No complaints about the dentistry and he is very knowlegeable, with a very nice staff. you have to pay extra for nitrous. He is careful that you don't experience pain, and that you are not made uncomfortable.

Dr Ostwald is a really great dentist. He has the ability to make crowns in the office using high tech cameras and robotic machinery which saves time and money. He's very thorough and explains everything he is proposing to do and gets your buy-in before proceeding. Highly recommended.

I've been seeing Dr. Ostwald since the 80's. I've referred all my friends to him. He is a perfectionist with an excellent chair-side manner. He is highly recommended.
