The selling of services seems more important to him than the patient's oral health. He botched a crown removel/replacement, compromising a root canal. that has plagued me ever since and cost me over $10,000. His referrals were bad and unsuccessful. Found another dentist who knew his stuff. What a difference it makes to go to the best.
My Experience: Crown
Duration: Back in his CA days, he was always selling procedures, even when they weren't necessary. He talked me into replacing a sound but not particularly perfect looking crown. I agreed to it. When he removed the existing crown, he compromised the root requiring 3 additional root canals to save the tooth. Whaley knew what he had done and I heard him say "uh oh" when it happened. All I got from him was a letter in legal language asserting his innocence. I should have sued him. Better just to steer clear.

I would recommend finding another dentist. Nice person, but very expensive and the work that was performed did not fix my problems. Had to get a second opinion and have another dentist perform the work.

Dr Whaley has given me a new treatement (to me) called "onlays" which was better than a crown. They are excellent in color and very comfortable. He is an excellent Dentist as I am no stranger to dental work (crowns, root canals, veneers, fillings). When I renew my veneers I will definately use him as he is very creative and has an excellent vision of how teeth should look for cosmetic purposes. His staff is cheerful, fun, professional and qualified. He gives shots that are hardly felt and enjoys his profession. I have been a patient since early 2002. I look forward to a continued client-Dr. relationship. For me it is great to settle down into a long association as Dentists such as Dr. Whaley are hard to find.
