I had my 3D x-rays there. I was told over the phone the price is $400 and I paid almost $700. That is a rip off. For an extraction and implant they will send you the bill for over $6,000. There are better dentists out there who can do it for much less. I think he just rips off his patients.

overly priced services. their estimate of my tooth implant was $7500. i was told that my x-rays would cost me about $300. then when my x-rays were done, I was told it was in fact nearly $600. i don't mind paying for services rendered, but i don't like being lied either. i hope they would be more up-front and honest. moreover, i waited 45 minutes past my appt time to see Dr. Emery.

Removed wisdom teeth and prepared for a tooth implant at his office.
Dr.Emery is a very professional and easy going doctor. Wisdom teeth were gone without a pain and very little effect after a local anesthesia was gone. I will have an implant installed soon and will update my review at that point.

He seemed like a very skilled surgeon; however, he works with no insurance companies and expects all non-comestic fees paid upfront. I almost had a severe heart attack when during my simple consultation about having wisdom teeth removed would cost me $700 for just the consultation, then I am told afterwards that the procedure would be over $3,000.
Best of all, the "Business Office Manager" in her designer suit then begins to tell me that they will not complete any insurance claims and "all that stuff" is up to the patient to deal with. I am sure that after I put over 3K on my interest paying credit card to get my wisdom pulled - the one thing I will feel completely capable of doing is dealing with my insurance provider.
What's even funnier about the situation is the receptionist took a xerox of my insurance information and then tells me after the consultation that I need to pay over $500 for the consultation and that the insurance card info is simply just for the file and they do not process any claims.
I have excellent insurance and my dentist recommended Dr.Emery; however, I am in shock about this incident and spoke with my dentist requesting another surgeon.

Dr. Emery did my implant (2 implants) on Feb. 21, 2008. I had almost no pain after implant . Therefore, I did not take any painkiller
he prescribed for me.
My implant treatment has not been completed, but so far so good. I recommend him to my friends.

I just finish the procedure, so I'm not sure that the result of the implants is perfect, but I feel very well by now and every thing seems well done.

My dentist performed a surgical extraction & bone graft on me (I realize now that he should have referred me to an oral surgeon). When the poorly performed procedure began causing me difficulty, my dentist was unavailable to fix it. I decided that (1) I need a new dentist and (2) it was time to go to a specialist/surgeon to fix the problem. I called Dr. Emery's office, explained my predicament, and they squeezed me in for an appointment the next day. As for the staff, they are knowledgeable, professional, and accomodating. As for Dr. Emery himself, he has GREAT chairside manner. He fixed my problem immediately and answered ALL of my questions without rushing me or making me feel stupid. He also made clear that I could call anytime, including evenings and weekends if need be. At that point, I decided to have Emery do my implant in a few months. Lastly, he seems to treat the people who work for him with dignity and respect. This creates a nice atmosphere in the office. I've been to dentists where that is not the case and it is uncomfortable for the patient.
In sum: I highly recommend Dr. Emery. I'll post an update after my implant. I doubt I'll have anything negative to say since his office does more implants than anyone in DC.

Dr. Emery did wisdom teeth extraction, and damaged one of the lingual nerves, which resulted in loss of sensitivity. The office is very nice and fiendly, but it really doesn't matter given the dismal outcome of a very routine procedure.
This office also does a lot of unrelated procedures - Botox, chemical peels, etc. If it's a successful oral surgery practice, why do they need to provide dermatological procedures as well? With 20/20 hindsight, shouldn't have gone there, but Dr. Emery was recommended by my dentist whose references I trusted. Clearly, not anymore.
