We were referred to Dr. Davis by our dentist. My warning lights should have been firing as I was trying to schedule the appointment. The staff member was pushy about scheduling a consultation right away. Once at the office, we had to wait 1.5 hours before Dr. Davis showed up, and recommended all 4 wisdom teeth be removed even though only one was impacted and recommended for removal. Although Dr. Davis is personable, it seems like he just wants to charge you for unneeded procedures.

We were recommended by our dentist and when I called for my daughters wisdom teeth appointment they told me we needed a consultation before the actual appointment so we did that first. At the appointment they collected 80.00 even though we had dental insurance. Then at the extraction they collected 400.00 more. Then we received a statement for the 80.00 and they said our insurance wasn't covering it. I called my insurance carrier and they told me we only got 2 visits per year (which were both cleaning visits already taken) so the insurance carrier told me to have the doctor change the code to a consultation code (which is what the visit was to begin with) and the insurance would cover it at 80%. So I called and asked the doctor if they could change the code and resubmit and she said the doctor won't change codes everything is done the same.......what a joke.....not like he wasn't getting his money! This doctor was more worried about getting his 80.00 for 15 minutes of talking to us (and they claim this was not a consultation?) He only looked at an x-ray then said see you in 2 weeks. So I won't be going back to this doctor next year for my sons visit. Not very good customer service.

There billing staff will get you to pay upfront and never mention that your Dental insurance won't cover the procedure, they will submit the form to your health insurance as a courtesy but at the same time they wont let you know that there not part of your health care providers network. The office will not return calls in regards to billing and they will make up lies that they told the patient the procedure wont be covered after the fact. They are unwilling to work with their patients to rectify issues.
Dr Stevens also may tell you it doesnt matter if they are in your health care providers network and that the procedures will be covered and your insurance company will reimburse you at a later date. Again another lie to get your hard earned money.
Why would someone in their right mind have a procedure done when they have insurance to cover the expense??? This place is a racket to get your money as they have you pay everything up front and misinform their patients about insurance coverage. They will also mention that they told you and they have a note of it& Anyone can write a note but never actually inform the patient.
I should have checked with my ins. providers 1st but so much for trusting your Dr.
