Dr. Smith is deeply committed to his patients and reflects this commitment with a friendly, professional, personal approach to his patients. Although he is extremely serious about doing the best work for his patients, his "bedside" manner is relaxed and disarmingly casual. He would be an excellent choice for people who are dentist-phobic. He takes a long-view approach to dental problems, and is holistic in his view of drawing connections between problem areas and creating integrated solutions. This means calling in a specialist (periodonist) when needed. He's not afraid to work as a team with a specialist to bring the best care to a patient. I've never had a bad hygienist in this office, although there appears to be quite a lot of turn-over. Dr. Smith's billing practices are fair and sympathetic, and payment plans are available. He doesn't pretend that dental care in New York is affordable, but will always spell out the costs of a procedure beforehand. I respect his honesty and approachability.
