While the teeth-cleaning I received at Dr. Rees's office was excellent (much less painful than I'm used to), he recommended a lot of work that another dentist informed me was not at all necessary. Most unfortunately, his office staff used pressure tactics, as well as provided grossly false information about price differences of dental treatment in other locations after I asked for copies of my records so that I could go to another dentist, which I wanted to do after being suspicious of Dr. Rees's recommendations. After confronting the doctor with these complaints, he denied them and made flatly false statements about the very content of what his staff had said to me. Ironically, when Dr. Rees asked me what I expected froma dentist on my first and only visit, it occurred to me to say that I wanted honesty about what work I needed. I thought I noticed something odd in his reaction at that time, and now I have excellent reason to believe that he was not at all honest with me, but rather attempted to take advantage of me, even knowing that I am a graduate student with little ability to pay for unnecessary dental treatment (he also made no offer to accommodate his pricing to my income).
