1 star. Called Dr. Herbst when I was in a LOT of pain on a Saturday morning. Kind of strange that he answered the phone himself, but was very amiable. He offered to meet me at one of his offices to do a root canal, which was admirable. When I started to ask his front desk person, Karen, about cost and my insurance coverage, Dr. Herbst took over the conversation and stated it sounded like I was "testing the waters" to determine prices. I said money was always important (some endodontists in the area charge $2000 to $3000 for root canal treatments), but that wasn't the case. He interrupted and said "good luck, have a good life" and disconnected the call. He's been in practice close to 40 years, so maybe it is time to retire! Altogether, his lack of professionalism was off-putting, no matter how skilled he may truly be.
About Front Desk: Sounds like a one-man-show with minimally qualified staff (perhaps Karen is the only office person).
