He successfully filled filling where several dentists insisted it could not be done, and one dentist left my wife in such serious pain that heavy codein pills did not help one bit. Dr. Koonin immediately fixed her tooth (with a simple filling) and the pain was gone! He's light on the hands, has excellent skills of filling hard to fill fillings that other dentists make worse not better. He does not accept any insurance that I know of and he's not cheap but we keep coming back cause we dislike pain and losing teeth even more.
The only downside is that his billing person is in our opinion EXTREMELY hard to work with and is the major source of pain that we have found in his office. That person simply refuses to be respectful nor helpful nor get our billing done promptly and often hangs up on us and seems very insulting to us in our humble opinion. Yes I realize this is our opinion, and we have expressed it. Better the dentist should NOT be the source of pain in the office so he's still worth seeing dispite that EXTREMELY problematic billing problem.
About Hygienist: They do a nice job and are less painful than other places! so that is another plus about his office.
