I had gone to Dr. Kay for many years. I suppose he does good work, but it seems as though lately things have fallen off. Their office hours have gotten very weird. I had noticed over the years that his office seems to have an extremely high turnover -- never seem to see the same people there for long. Then recently, my wife had problems with them -- they couldn't seem to get a crown to fit or match and he had to come in several times before they got it right. They also hit a nerve during that series of visits as I recall and caused her a great deal of pain. So we switched dentists.
Boy, was that an eye-opener. We are now with a great practice in Kent that is operated by two dentists. They keep regular hours and have a loyal, happy and stable staff. I had no idea how out-of-date Dr. Kay's equipment was until I saw this place -- amazing! And they are also remarkably cheaper than Dr. Kay, which really makes me wonder about them.
But what happened recently was the last straw: after not hearing from them for months, I suddenly get a threatening notice for money not paid, and they are going to refer us to collections! What? They never sent us a bill!! That's it: they're incompetent. Avoid at all costs.
About Hygienist: Like I said, avoid these people at all costs. You never know what their billing department is going to do next.
