Poor experience. His staff informed me that they accepted - and verified by phone - that they accepted my health insurance plan, for which I was responsible for 50%; signed a contract based on this info. TEN MONTHS after, they tell me their bills were rejected; I owed entire amount. Told me it was my fault, as I should have double-checked their verification with my ins myself. His staff refused any responsibility, were very cold and defensive; paid entire amt and had to postpone other medical procedure. Never in my life have had to "double check" a health care provider's verification of ins - I showed them and gave a copy of, my HMO card, which their staff assured me they accepted. Turns out it is the PPO version they accept. Had I known this, I never would have gone through with the braces, as I switched to the PPO plan the next year anyway and braces would have been covered.
When I attempted to speak with the doctor about this major problem that was primarily their fault, the doctor would not discuss the matter with me, stating he had nothing to do with the billing or insurance issues - a cop-out answer.
As for results, four years later, still wearing retainer, my TMJ has considerably worsened..
