This is the worst place on earth to get braces from. I first got my braces put on in the beginning of 2014 to close a small gap in between my teeth. The doctor originally said I would only have my braces on for a year. Once the year mark came up, I asked the doctor what day I would be able to come in to get them off and he proceeded to tell me I was lying and that he never tells people they'll have them off in a year & he said I would have them on for another 6 months. The doctor kept extending my time & another year and a half ended up passing so I asked him again when I would have my braces off and let him know that I was unhappy with how he keeps extending the date everytime so he said he would take them off at my next appointment. Once I was done talking to the doctor, I went to the front and made my appointment with Christine and Christine kept talking nasty about my mom and bashing her because she was having a little financial difficulties at the time & got permission from the doctor to pay what she could afford. It was baffling that Christine actually thought it was ok to complain about parents to their children. My appointment to get my braces off was yesterday afternoon and when I came in, the girl who was doing my braces said she wasn't going to take them off because they "only take braces off in the morning", which NOBODY told me. I then explained to her my situation and let her know that the doctor and Christine only told me to set a long appointment for whenever I was available, and that was exaclty what I did. I didnt catch the young lady's name, but she was very rude to me and told me the only way she would take them off would be if I drove to her office in Pueblo the next morning. I work in the mornings and Pueblo is completely out of the way for me to drive, especially when they have an office in the Springs where I live so I declined her offer and tolder her I would be able to come back later that day for her to take them off and she said no. The sweet orthodontics lady sitting next to us was listening our conversation and said she would be able to take them off for me. I didn't catch her name, but she was a blessing. While I was waiting for my retainers to be made, I sat in the front waiting area with Christine. Christine recieved a call from a frantic child that was having her mouth cut up by her braces and wanted to make an appointment to come in to have the wires cut. Christine then proceeded to give the child a hard time and told her she was going to have the lady who did her braces a call. Christen called one of the staff members then started complaining about how the girl was annoying and making a joke out of the way the little girl explained what was wrong. Christine didn't take the little girl seriously at all and didn't care that she was in pain. A close family friend who got their braces done here around the same time as me said that the staff was extremely rude to her too and that the doctor also kept extending her time. I AM EXTREMELY UNHAPPY WITH MY EXPERIENCE HERE AND WOULDN'T RECOMMEND ANYONE GO TO THIS PLACE!
About Front Desk: Christine is TERRIBLY. She doesn't take anyone seriously when they say they are in pain and makes jokes about you behind your back. She also talked really badly about my mom because she was having a financial hardship and got permission from Dr. Arango to pay what she could. Rest of the staff at the front desk were friendly.

Great orthodontist. Nice staff and facilities. Using the Damon System and great changes in very short time. I would recommend this office.

Damon Brace's System. Cost for whole mouth was very expensive over $6,300. This system was suppose to reduce pain and the time worn, over conventional braces. At the initial apt we were told he would have them on about two years. It has been nearly three years and Dr Arango still doesn't know when they will be removed. He dismisses us any time we ask how much longer it will be. The pain our child has gone through does not seem to be any less than what friends have told us they went through with conventional braces. Office staff is usually rude or they act as if we are imposing on them, or taking away from their tv time. The office is very nice and has tvs for the patients to watch but the hygenists tend to watch tv too and our child's mouth has been cut from their negligence and not paying attention to what they are doing. Dr. Arango was very friendly at the inital consult but his demeanor changed after he had our signed contract and money. The Colorado Springs office hours are very limited, which they did not tell us when we signed the contract. So it is very hard to get appointments when you need them, or when is convenient for you.

This has been a nightmare. I have the following complaints: overcharged, the staff is consistently rude, if you have to reschedule it can take almost another month to get it, Dr. Arango sees your child for about 90 seconds and then she's off to an assistant for the rest of the time, and they said they'd take our insurance (Tricare) and then wouldn't. They just want to get lots of patients in there and make as much money as they can. They don't even care that my child's gums have been inflamed since she got the braces on and we can't seem to bring down the inflamation. What a huge mistake this was-$5,000!

I went in for an initial consult with Dr. Arango and found him to be rude to my family. After he told me to "get my stuff" I went in to talk finances with his staff. They quoted me over 7000 dollars and insisted that I MUST pay cash for the Herbst appliance. I couldn't pay with a check or any other form. To qoute "Drive to the ATM and get $800 cash and bring it here" and to me that seemed suspicious! My daughter was stressed that the doctor didn't like us...which is fine, because I took my 7850 bucks and drove to a different orthodontist who quoted me 3500 for the same treatment and appliance and he is letting me write a check. And he was POLITE to me to boot. In closing: OVERPRICED and bad customer service.

going through the financial process was unexpectadly like going through a used car salesperson. I found out 1 week before getting the braces i could save over $1000 if I paid up front but was never advised of this in the pre-meeting i had to read it on the website. I couldn't collect it together by then. I just NOW learned we have 30 days to pay and still get cash price, could have easily saved myself over $1000. I am disappointed with the financial system.
